Marisa Votapek, violin

Marisa Votapek is currently pursuing a master’s of music in Violin Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the instruction of Mark Kaplan.  A native of Naples, Florida, Ms. Votapek began her musical studies at the age of four. As a young musician, she performed twice with the Naples Philharmonic as a winner of the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. Ms. Votapek has attended numerous summer festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and School, the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute, Chautuaqua Institute, and the National Repertory Orchestra. She has performed in masterclasses with Joel Smirnoff, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Rachel Barton Pine, and Gil Shaham, among others. Ms. Votapek received her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance at Florida State University with Corinne Stillwell, and often returns to Naples, where she continues to work with the Naples Philharmonic Youth Symphonia as a mentor to coach and educate young musicians.
